According to the Home Office, a Palestinian who posted antisemitic posts on social media has been charged with intentionally entering the UK without authorization.

Abu Wadee, also known as Mosab Abdulkarim Al-Gassas, is thought to have arrived in Kent on Thursday by small boat and was taken ashore, but he wasn’t taken into custody until Sunday evening, one day after his arrival was first reported in the media.

He was placed under remand in custody, according to a Home Office spokesperson.

On Tuesday, Abu Wadee is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

He posted images of himself with an assault rifle and videos in which he prayed for the murder of all Jews, according to the Campaign Against Antisemitism.

It stated that the Home Office needs to “ensure that he cannot pose a threat to public security” right away.

In a previous letter to the government, Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp demanded that he be “deported immediately”.

Philp continued: “I am glad the authorities have tracked him down, but he should never have been able to get here in the first place.”

“The government is committed to ending small boat crossings that undermine our border security and restoring order to the asylum system to ensure that the rules are respected and enforced,” a Home Office spokesperson had previously stated.

“The British public can be reassured that we take all steps necessary at all times to protect the nation’s security, including taking action in the Border Security Bill to give the police and immigration officers stronger powers to act where anyone poses a threat.”
